With no small amount of disappointment, the Tower Grove Pride team has come to the decision that it will not be possible to hold the festival this year. The city's newest guidelines only allow for events of up to 250 people, and that number is very unlikely rise into the 10s of thousands to allow for our festival to happen. Even postponing again for the Fall looked very unlikely, as our country has found it difficult to take the steps necessary to halt the spread of the virus. We don't expect any large event to be possible until next year, so we are looking forward to 2021 with the hope that we can pick up where we left off: a growing indie pride fest in the greatest community ever!
This doesn't mean, of course, that we cannot keep the flame of Pride burning this year despite not being able to gather in large numbers this year. We are encouraging everyone to have small, social-distance picnics at Tower Grove Park and St. Louis' other beautiful green spaces, continuing to decorate your homes in Prideful rainbow glory, and supporting local movements for social, racial, and economic justice.
If you'd like to reserve a picnic spot in Tower Grove Park you can go here to do so:
Tower Grove Pride, however, will not be holding any more official events from the team until 2021.
We hope everyone stays safe and healthy during this Coronavirus crisis. Thank you so much for your support. We can't wait to see all of you next year!
Much love,
Tower Grove Pride Team
