Each year Tower Grove Pride adopts a Courage Scholar to support with a $1,000 scholarship. This year we say congrats to this amazing young woman, Rachel Ruddy.
Rachel is a graduating senior at Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School where she was active in the show choir and the theater department, the Diversity Club, and was an editor on the literary-arts magazine, Villa Ink.
She cofounded the Courage Club at her school to provide information relating to and support for the LGBTQ+ community.
She will attend Northwestern University in the fall with an undecided major, and plans to continue participating in artistic pursuits and social activism throughout her college career.
Rachel's story was really inspiring to the TGP Team. She embodies all the amazing qualities of a Courage Scholar. It's an honor to be able to support the next chapter in her adventure and we wish her nothing but success!
